National and international experts in midwifery are coming to
the University to share their experience of implementing contemporary
midwifery evidence.This is an exciting opportunity for maternity
care professionals to come together to explore and debate Moving
Midwifery Forward'.
Keynote Speakers
Professor Ellen Hodnett, University
of Toronto, Canada will provide evidence from rigorous evaluations
of forms of care for childbearing women (mostly multi-center,
randomised controlled trials).
Jane Walker, consultant midwife
from Homerton University Hospital, London will present research
findings from Testing a Model of Care in Edgware Birth Centre
.
Parallel Session Themes
The hierarchy of evidence.
Starting Stopping - discontinuing practices that are
harmful to women.
Using evidence in partnership with women.
Developing guidelines to upport midwifery practice.
